As providers of free, confidential, and non-judgmental counseling, our volunteers are sometimes the only trusted source a mother has when determining what to do with her baby. Mothers who reach out to Project Cuddle for information do so because they know a caring person is on the other end of the line.
Volunteers work with pregnant women and girls to understand their situation and to provide the best information possible on what options exist. Your work can have a direct impact on callers’ lives and will actively work to prevent baby abandonment.
Sharing Information that Counts
The baby abandonment prevention volunteers at Project Cuddle provide clear information on how pregnant women and girls can safely and legally proceed with their pregnancy. Volunteers also work with women and girls who are considering abandoning their baby to ensure these mothers know their rights under the Safe Surrender Baby Law and take actions that prioritize theirs and the baby’s wellbeing.
Also, Project Cuddle volunteers let a mother know if she changes her mind, she has a right to keep her baby. Volunteers provide informational resources for women and girls to learn about adoption services, foster care services and more.
